when not in fight...use a non HP-degen. weapon(HP-degen weapon=vampiric) 
when in fight...switch to vampiric weapon and use it
won fight?...take the non HP-degen. weapon.
work but takes time

in genrel it is not a good idee to use degen on one self as you r tageted by the crap out they.
